Programme Overview
The 3+1 Accelerated Master Degree, offered by the University of Bristol's Faculty of Science and Engineering, which includes schools such as Computer Science, Engineering Mathematics and Technology, Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, and Geographical Sciences, follows a “3+1” dual-degree model. Students complete the first three years of undergraduate study at their home university and then undertake a one-year Master's programme at Bristol. Upon fulfilling all academic requirements, they receive a bachelor's degree from their home institution and a Master of Science degree from the University of Bristol.

The Intensive Selection Camp
The Intensive Selection Camp at the University of Bristol is a mandatory component of the 3+1 Accelerated Master Degree. Conducted online over three weeks, the camp aims to strengthen students' academic background, research capabilities, and academic English writing skills, ensuring a smooth transition to the Master’s programme at the University of Bristol.
Students who successfully complete the Intensive Selection Camp will receive a conditional offer for a relevant Master’s programme at the University of Bristol, enabling them to proceed to the Master’s year in the Faculty of Science and Engineering during their fourth year of study.
The Intensive Selection Camp includes 30 hours of Academic English courses and 30 hours of Science and Engineering academic enhancement courses, all taught by faculty from the University of Bristol’s Faculty of Science and Engineering and the University’s Language Centre.

Master’s Study Period for the Class of 2023: September 2026 – September 2027
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Intensive Selection Camp, applicants must be current third-year undergraduates and pass an interview. For formal admission to the Master's programme at the University of Bristol (by July 2026), students must successfully complete the camp and receive a conditional offer, maintain a weighted average of at least 87% or a GPA of 3.7 or above over six semesters, and meet the English proficiency requirements, typically IELTS 6.5 (no component below 6.0), TOEFL 85 (R/W/L 20, S 21), or LanguageCert B2 High Pass, with variations depending on the specific programme.
